Wow!! How about that snow? At least 10 inches and it's still falling.

It's very warm in the germination room and this week Anne and Jay are busy grafting tomatoes.

Why do we graft? We do this so that we have the best of our varieties.

These grafts are with plant stock that was started a bout 3 weeks ago. We use Maxifort and Beaufort tomatoes as the bottom, to give a vigorous growth and disease resistance to the top. We use the ever popular Buffalo tomato as the top.

We hope to have these grafted plants in the greenhouse in the ground in about 3 weeks, and tomatoes around the end of May.

We have also started cucumbers to be planted in their own greenhouse and parsley to be planted in the fields when the snow melts.

Don't forget to sign up for this summer's CSA.
